STILL LIFE: After Fantin-Latour

Lucas has revisited a project from his previous studies at NSCAD University. Building on the tradition of the Master Artist and Apprentice School of Teaching, Lucas has created a number of original works of art through a blend of copying, amalgamating and redeveloping chosen works from nineteenth century painter Henri Fantin-Latour. By choosing a master artist whom Lucas not only admires, but also shares many artistic tendencies with, Lucas has created new colour and shape compositions, and has maintained many of the historical qualities of Fantin-Latour's work.
